Please find below some age appropriate activities across a range of subjects, which you may use to support your child.
To keep your child busy and learning in the event that may be unable to attend school, try to complete some of these activities. With a range of fun, engaging and challenging tasks, your children will practise fundamental skills and reinforce concepts that have already been taught to them during this year. This is the perfect way to help your child reinforce learning and enhance knowledge until they are able to return to school.
On rare occasions, schools will decide to close. This can be for a variety of reasons but they are usually to protect both students and staff. Your child’s learning doesn’t stop just because they are not able to attend school and these activities will help them continue with their knowledge and understanding of the world.
Any adult can support their child without having any teaching expertise or subject knowledge. Many of the activities require no input at all from an adult – they simply cover content that your child will already have some understanding of from previous lessons at school.

Please check your Tapestry account for our regular challenges, which you can do at home.
Reading
As a school, we use the Bug Club scheme for our reading books. Every child should have access to BugClub as an online reading book service. On this website, teachers can allocate books which are at a similar level to individual children's phonic level and we can see when all books have been read to allocate more. You are able to continue as before to access this site from home, see 'Bug Club Information' document if you are unsure. Below, you will also find a selection of websites offering free e-books for home use to support our effort with keeping Cherry Tree Hill reading!
