Based on the outskirts of Derby, Locko Park is a lovely place to have a stroll. Take a stroll down the lanes and visit the lake. It’s a great place for a picnic.

The National Memorial Arboretum is the UK’s year round centre of remembrance and home to iconic armed forces memorial.
Shardlow Village and Heritage Centre
Free
Walk around the picturesque village of Shardlow and call at the Heritage Centre where you will find loads of information about the local history. Parking is located at the Clock House Car Park.

These unique riverside gardens have been offering visitors a tranquil setting to view the River Derwent for over 100 years. The beautiful gardens include shrubberies and colourful flowerbeds together with a central bandstand.

Foremark Reservoir is a haven for wildlife, supporting a rich diversity of wildlife with over 200 species of birds, 27 species of butterflies and 300 species of moths recorded on site. The many footpaths and trails are a great starting point to explore the reservoir and surrounding woodland.
